Terroir & climate
The winegrowers of the Leithaberg benefit greatly from the
composition of the soil.
Combined with its microclimate and centuries old cultivation
methods it is home to a terroir with unique characteristics that cannot
be found anywhere else. This area provides optimal conditions for local
types of grapes such as the Blaufränkisch and the Zweigelt and Burgundy varieties as well as Grüner Veltliner and Welschriesling grapes.
Leithaberg produces elegant wines with a mineral accent and an
unmistakable character.
Range of varieties
Our grapes grow on the best terraces of the southern foothills
of the Leitha mountains. The special soil makes it possible to
cultivate a wide range of wines.
White wine varieties:
Grüner Veltliner, Welschriesling, Pinot Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay,
Muskat Ottonel;
Red wine varieties:
Blaufränkisch, Zweigelt, Pinot Noir, Carbernet Sauvignon;
